About This Site

Washington custody searches start with a basic question: which system has the person? This private reference site explains the statewide inmate population landscape across county and city jails, the Washington State Department of Corrections, federal custody, immigration detention, WA VINE, and Washington Courts.

Why This Site Exists

Washington does not have one public roster that covers every person in custody. County sheriffs and local jail agencies handle most recent arrests, pretrial holds, and short local sentences. The Washington State Department of Corrections, abbreviated DOC, runs a separate Incarcerated Search for people in state prison custody, reentry centers, and related DOC placements. Federal Bureau of Prisons records, ICE detainee records, WA VINE custody notifications, and Washington Courts case search each answer a different question.

What This Site Covers

The goal is to make those Washington systems easier to tell apart without presenting this site as the source of the records.

  • Washington inmate lookup help through inmate records, jail rosters & mugshots, and court records after an arrest.
  • A County Directory for Washington county jail roster and inmate-population pages.
  • A Facility Directory covering county jails, city jails, regional facilities, DOC prisons, BOP custody, ICE detention, juvenile detention, and reentry or partial-confinement facilities.
  • Plain-language context for the Public Records Act, RCW 70.48.100 jail registers, WA VINE notifications, and the limits of public custody data.

What We Cannot Do

Washington Inmate Population is privately run. It is not a jail, court, law-enforcement agency, DOC office, records custodian, or government service, and it has no affiliation with any sheriff's office, city jail, county jail, corrections department, BOP facility, ICE facility, court, or public agency.

  • We cannot release, hold, transfer, or locate anyone through an official custody database.
  • We cannot post bond, arrange a visit, send money, or change a roster entry.
  • We cannot provide legal, sentencing, immigration, or bail advice.
  • We cannot guarantee that every roster detail, court update, fee, phone number, address, or release status is current.

Only the agency that owns a record can confirm current custody, charges, release status, case filings, or notification settings.

Search Partners

Some pages may include search boxes or record-search tools operated by third-party providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, data practices, and result formats. If a visitor signs up for a paid partner tool after using a link or search feature on this site, Washington Inmate Population may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the site available, but it does not give us control over partner pricing, records, search coverage, or results.
