Washington Inmate Population is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, correct an official roster, register a VINE notice, or pull official booking, DOC, court, BOP, or ICE records for you.
Where to Look First
Washington custody and record questions must go to the agency that owns the record. DOC records belong to the Washington State Department of Corrections. County, city, regional, and tribal jail roster entries belong to the jail agency that booked or holds the person. Court filings belong to the court of record, while federal custody and immigration detention use separate national systems.
- For someone in a county or city jail, start with the County Directory and then use inmate records for the local roster path.
- For booking photos or public roster limits, use jail rosters & mugshots and the holding agency's records process.
- For charges filed after a booking, use court records after an arrest and Washington Courts or the court where the case was filed.
- For a specific jail, prison, reentry center, BOP facility, ICE facility, or juvenile facility, use the Facility Directory.
- For a sentenced state prisoner or DOC placement, use the DOC Inmate Search or the DOC public-records request process.
- For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. For immigration detention, use ICE ODLS. For custody notifications, use WA VINE through VINELink.
