Use the Correct County
After Choosing a County
Once the correct Washington county is identified, use the local jail roster for current custody, the local court route for filed charges, and the facility directory for city jails, regional jails, prisons, juvenile facilities, federal detention, and ICE custody. If the person has been transferred from a county jail to DOC, the county page may no longer show current custody, and DOC Incarcerated Search becomes the better source. If the person is in federal custody, BOP is the correct source. If the person is in civil immigration detention, ICE ODLS is the correct source.
Washington county records also differ by record custodian. A sheriff's office or jail usually controls roster and booking data, the court of record controls filed criminal documents, DOC controls state corrections records, and WA VINE controls notification registration. The county table is therefore a routing layer for local inmate population work, not a substitute for the official record owner. When a county uses a regional facility or sends a person to another county jail by arrangement, the facility row and county row should be read together.
County links are intentionally built with washingtoninmatepopulation.us. That placeholder keeps the Washington county directory ready for final domain replacement without hardcoding a domain that does not yet exist.
